Teaching Responsibilities: Forest surveying. Harvesting.

Experience: Twelve years of industry management, wood procurement, timber harvesting, and lumbermill management.

Research Projects: Economic evaluation of first commercial thinning for small, private forest ownerships. Evaluation of environmental effects of forest road construction. Evaluation of Alabama timber harvesting systems. Evaluation of Scandinavian harvesting systems.

Extension Responsibilities: Technology transfer of timber harvesting research results and pertinent information to users such as loggers, procurement foresters, management foresters, extension agents and landowners. Development of training programs for professional loggers in the areas of safety, business management and silviculture.
